Silver Dollar Showdown # 5
Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. The finals will be here in 1 WEEK ! This year we extended the season one month and went back to Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. We hope that you can come join us for the final race of the year. We will be giving away our race chassis and rail chassis at this event, as well as awarding the SEVWA Champions for 2007. All Show car entries are $5 (doesn't include admission). We will only be having Top 20 with Best of Awards as well. German Toys club invites you to our 10th VW's concentration on November 4th. 2007 at Parque Vicente Guerrero in Mexicali, Baja California Mexico, where people gather from different places to enjoy the fun of being in the Volkswagen family. All aircooled and watercooled are welcome. Participants fee is $20.00 usd. That will include driver and passenger pass, German Toys T-shirt pack, souvenirs and more!!! Glen Rose, TX Who?- Volkswagen Things and their families What?- A safari trip through Fossil Rim Wildlife Park fossilrim.org When?- Saturday, November 10th Where?- We will leave from Whataburger @ 4408 Little Rd in Arlington (I-20 and Little Rd) at 10am and drive to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park in Glen Rose. Join us for an exotic wildlife safari in your VW Type 181. We will meet at 9am and leave from Whataburger parking lot at 10am arriving in Glen Rose around 11am. If you are coming from outside the DFW Metroplex, you can meet us at the park. Cost of admission is $14.95 for adults, $10.95 for Kids ages 4-12, and Kids 3 and under are free. You may also purchase food for the animals for $7.95 (limit 1 bag per car). San Diego Locals Southbay express cruise!
San Diego, Ca SanDiego Locals has been invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Southbay Express way this saturday and what better way is there to get there than to cruise all together and enjoy a fun day in San Diego. There will be a display of cars from the 20's, 30's and so on, and what better way to display your vw than in this event. There will be lots of media attention, so come out with us and show off that rustbucket or that show winner, it really doesn't matter what you drive lets make our pressence count here in sandiego. This will be a family event and lots of activities for the kids. WE WILL MEET AT THE MASSACHUSETTS EXIT OF THE 94FWY IN THE PARKIN LOT CLOSE TO IN N OUT. 9:00 AM AND LEAVE AT 9:30 SHARP WE HAVE TO ARRIVE THERE BETWEEN 10:30 AND 11:00 . Kingsbury - San Antonio - Austin, Texas Maps & pictures: Click Here WHEN: November 17th in Kingsbury, Texas. Very close to Seguin, just short drive from San Antonio or Austin. This event is a vintage airplane fly-in and small "All make" car show. This will be a very casual, low stress event without a lot of vendors aside from a local scout troop selling burgers, hot dogs, soda, etc. There aren't any trophies so leave your chrome polish and dust rags at home. Just come and hang out, chat it up with VW folk, and watch the vintage airplanes fly in and out. All the airplane hangers and shops will be open to wander in and out of. The facilities are guaranteed to generate a large dose of "shop envy" HOW MUCH: This is a FREE show but is a fundraiser for the aviation museum and a local scout troop so any donations are appreciated. WHERE: 190 Pershing Lane, Kingsbury, TX 78638 WHO: You, your car, your family & friends. No pets or vendors please. CAMPING and HOTELS: There is no official camping this year but based on the participation this time I will set something up for next year. There are several hotels in Seguin. Pmail me for area camping info. FRIDAY NIGHT DIESEL DRAGS: Think diesels are slow? Come out to the San Antonio drag strip Friday evening before the GTG / Fly-in and have your mind changed. Fall Vintage VW Cruise-In
Montgomery, Alabama Jack Ingram Volkswagen and The Vintage Volkswagen Association in Montgomery, Alabama will hold their annual "VW Cruise-In event" November 17th at the VW dealership in Montgomery on the Eastern Boulevard. It's off the I-85 exit # 6...The "event" will be from 10 am until 2 pm and there will be complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks for everyone attending. They gave out some nice door prizes last year, and I am sure they will have some good ones again this year. Hope to see y'all again this year!! Mother Lode VW Club Canned Food DRIVE!
Angels Camp, California We will be taking a drive to help the needy and all valley VW clubs are invited. Santa's Express Needs Our Help!!! Meet in front of: Long's Drug Store Angels Camp 11:00 a.m. We will be leaving Long's at 11:15 a.m. SHARP, driving to the Black Bart Playhouse parking lot in Murphys to make our deliveries to Santa’s Express. Lunch afterwards at a local restaurant in Murphy, and then some local winery tours. (Tuolumne County participants will meet in front of Kragen Auto Supply in Sonora, and leave by 10:15 a.m. to caravan to Angels Camp) Santa's Express feeds up to 1000 families every Christmas, through the help of local donations. They also accept donations of new, unwrapped clothing, jackets and toys. It would be great if we could all help the cause. If you are involved with other clubs who would like to join our efforts please invite them. It will be fun and we will be doing something to help the needy in the Mother Lode! Questions?
