We are encouraging everyone to pre-register. There will be a 250 vehicle participation limit! New and used parts VW vendors are welcomed. Volksblast Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose proceeds have benefited various organizations with $80,000 through past Volksblast shows! 4th Annual Buses By the Beach - Bus BRRR!
Angola, IN - Pokegon State Park, Indiana The fun starts this year at around 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 9th. We will have a big pile of firewood (please don't bring your own -- Emerald Ash Borer problems!) and start the Pot Luck Crock Pot Chili (electric hook ups on each campsite) when the buses are leveled, tops are popped (and insulated!) and heaters are started. Then, it's off to the wild toboggan run for some 35-40 mph runs on the refrigerated tracks. Back to campsite later on for all different kinds of Pot Luck Chili, music (Bring and instrument if you play one!) and great bus talk around the big fire. Make sure to include the fantastic brunch at the rustic Potawatomie Inn on your calendar for the next day, Sunday February 10th, before hitting the road. All proceeds once again benefit the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. The location is beautiful Nojoqui Falls Park in Santa Barbara County. It is near the Danish style city of Solvang. We will have a huge group BBQ fired up so all you have to do is bring your favorite BBQ to throw on the grill. Take the short hike up the trail to the falls that are usually flowing pretty good this time of year. There is no charge to get in. The event features a pre-party cookout with music, games & prizes, then a 30 - 45 minute cruise around Daytona thru the loop, that will end at the Sonic Burger for the monthly VW Cruisin' to finish out the evening. O.C.T.O. Winter Meet 2008
Huntington Beach, California Orange County Transporter Organization presents "O.C.T.O. Winter Meet 2008". This is a swap and display meet, for 1967 and earlier buses, held at Huntington Beach High School, Huntington Beach, CA. Til 1967 VW type IIs get preferred swap and display spaces which will be on a "First come - First served basis". There will be raffle prizes at the main booth. Refreshment services will be on hand by the Grill Master "Hot Dog" Fred. So drive your transporter...not the Dodge!!! The high school is located at 1905 Main St., Huntington Beach, CA.
