California Speedway Fontana, Ca THE BUG-IN Returns to Southern California Last summer was the first European Bug-In. There has also been the Northwest Bug-In, the Texas bug-In, the Phoenix Bug-In and the Colorado Bug-In, to name a few. There have been Bug-Ins in Hawaii, Australia and Japan . . . but there is only one that is simply known as THE BUG-IN! It is the Southern California phenomena that started it all. The original Bug-In was held 31 times at the legendary Orange County International Raceway from the time it opened in 1968 until its closure in 1983. In 2005 the event was resurrected at the California Speedway in Fontana, California. The CB Performance Bug-In 32 was held that May to a capacity crowd. The participation was phenomenal ˆ over 600 cars in the car show and over 200 racers in the drag racing program ˆ spectators came from all over the world. Over the last three years, the drag strip was moved from one side of the famous California Speedway oval track to the other. It has taken a while to get the facility up to speed and there were some scheduling problems but now a date has been agreed on, Sunday April 6th. 2008. That will be the date of BUG-IN 33 at the California Speedway Drag Strip in Fontana, CA, Mark your calendars! 500 Wonderland Dr., Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 8:00 am, Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Parking Lot # 11. This is a split-window event with basic rules and guidelines similar to The Bulli Brigade. Thunder Valley Volks Rally
Bristol Dragway, Bristol, TN 37620 From Beetles to Buses to Ghias and Things, Volkswagens of all shapes and sizes will invade Thunder Valley April 12-13. The East Coast Pro Racing Association brings its exciting Quick Shootout and Pro Stock Volkswagens to Bristol Dragway, along with several divisions of bracket racing. A car show will feature every V-dub known to man, as all Volkswagens are welcome to compete. Vendors and swap meet participants will give visitors the opportunity to purchase hard-to-find restoration parts, aftermarket performance accessories, and other items for VW fans of all ages. Many other surprises are in store for this event, so if you are VW aficionado, don‚t miss it. Tickets are $15 on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes are available for $25, with kids 10 and under free with a paying adult. Camping will be available on the Dragway grounds. 10th Annual Volkswagens at the Beaches VW Show & Swap Meet
3952 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 The 10th Annual Volkswagens at the Beaches VW Show & Swap Meet is scheduled for Sunday, April 13, 2008 and you are personally invited. Show information, classes, directions, fees and pre-registration form are located on our web site www.sevwcjaxchapter.com. We are charging only $10.00 for pre-registration for show cars. In addition to the normal show day events, we're inviting you to Hannah Park on the Ocean for events on Saturday, April 12th. The older (split window) Buses are again meeting at Hanna Park, all other Volkswagen welcome to park nearby. Texas VW Classic
Hwy 16 at the Lady Bird Municpal Park in Fredericksburg Texas Texas VW Classic is 3 day event, April 18-20th. Friday night is a casual cruise to dinner to welcome everyone. Sat at 2pm is the Free Bluebonnet Cruise , halfway we stop for refreshments and prizes. Sat evening at 6pm is the Bar BQ dinner, free with early registration. Sunday 8-3 is the all inclusive VW show and swap. Show is located on Hwy 16 at the Lady Bird Municpal Park in Fredericksburg Texas, one hour southwest of Austin in the popular tourist area. This is the Madera VW show and Swap with over 230 VW's on Display and over 50 swappers.
